PALMER, ARNOLD – The family announces with sorrow his death at the Timmins & District Hospital on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at age 84 years. He is survived by his loving wife Audrey (nee Morrison) and was predeceased by his first wife Millie (nee Krasevec) in 1991. Dear father of Alan Palmer (Nancy) of Kitchener, Beverly O’Grady of Mississauga, Victoria Lee (Sebben) of Sarnia, John Colbey (Kathy) of White River, Jane Chenier (Terry) of Timmins, Paul Colbey (Sylvie) of Timmins, Karen Siltamaki (Aki) of Thunder Bay and Mark Hara (Ann) of Sault Ste. Marie. Dear grandfather of Christopher & Allyn Palmer, Caitlyn & Innis O’Grady, Katie & Brad Hara, Kasen & Colby Sebben, Kristie Kirsh, Ashley & Abigail Colbey, Sam, Adam & Jay Chenier, Mackenzie and Danika Colbey. Also survived by his sister Arlene Avdovich and son Geoff Avdovich both of Arnprior as well as many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his sister Lillian Kalkowski. Arnold will be fondly remembered as a longtime mechanic with his trademark blue hardhat and white coat who worked for 30+ years with Lorne’s Esso and later with Timmins Automotive until his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and German Culture Club. He loved the Kettle Lakes area having spent many full summers camping there. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from St. Anthony’s Cathedral with a reception to follow in the church hall. Cremation will follow. Remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Stroke Prevention Clinic would be appreciated. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins.
