Therese Marie Whissel was born on August 15, 1914 in a small town in Quebec called Ripon.
She was the first born of five children to Clarisse Lalonde and Eudore Whissel. Her siblings were Jean-Remi Whissel, Philip Whissel, Marguerite Major and Estelle Roy.

At around age 4, her family moved to Cochrane Ontario where they were dairy farmers.
At the age of 25, in 1939, she married Patrice Levasseur a young man from one of the neighbourhood farms. He was also a dairy farmer. She worked on the farm alongside her husband.
They never had children but raised a niece, Lucille Martin, nee Robillard, like their own from the age of 14 months old. This niece refers to Therese as her mother.

In December 1963, her husband passed away. Therese made the decision of leaving the farm to move to Timmins to be closer to her immediate family.

She began working at the Golden Manor for the Aged in 1964. She retired in 1974 at the age of 60 with the intention of returning to make it her last home.

After her retirement she joined numerous seniors club. For a period of time she was the president of the club at the St-Sauveur parish now known as St-Joseph. She was also an active member of all the other seniors clubs.

She enjoyed travelling with her siblings. She visited all of Canada and spent time in Florida in the winters.

Until 2014, she enjoyed spending time at the cottage with her daughter and son in law Darrell. Along with the children and grandchildren.

Therese was still in her own apartment until February 2014 at which time she made the Golden Manor her new home.

On April 03, 2018 she went to meet her Lord and Saviour that she loved very much
